Ang Bahay Parola (The Lighthouse)

The Ang Bahay Parola street children's ministry was started in 1999 by the Mission to the World-Philippines church-planting team.  A member of that team, Renae Johnson, had compassion for the street children of Manila and served as the founding director.  The first ABP home for girls opened in early 2001.  The ministry eventually opened four children's homes––two for boys and two for girls––all under the care national Filipino churches.

In early 2008 ministry leadership was fully transferred to the national staff and churches with Carlito (Buboy) Quila serving as director. Paul and Sarah Taylor are involved as advisors and fund raisers.

There are currently three homes for a about 60 children:  Renae's Home for girls, Grace Home for boys and Peace Home for girls.  What was previously Sarah's Home for boys is now a non-residential drop-in day center for children and famiies.
